Linsanty vs. New York

Linsanity came to New York last night. His team (Rockets) beat his former team (Knicks) for the 2nd time this year. When Jeremy Lin entered Madison Square Garden, he got cheered. I bet he was relieved that he didn’t get booed. But as the game progressed, he started getting booed. The Rockets had the lead by as much as 25 points in the game, so the Knicks fans were mad. Jeremy Lin ended the game with 22 points and 8 assists. His 22 points was his second highest season total. I hope they keep playing like this.

We are visiting Houston for Christmas break, and we landed yesterday night. We are staying here for a week, and six days. Tonight, we are going to the Rockets vs. 76ers game. I am really excited to be here to see my friends, and to eat the good food I haven’t had in a while. I hope the Rockets can beat the 76ers tonight.

Rockets Update

When I woke up this morning and saw the stats from the Rockets game last night, I was disappointed that they lost, but also happy that Jeremy Lin tied his career high with 38 points.  That now puts his season average in points at 11.4 a game.
Even though Jeremy Lin hasn't put up a lot of points this year, he put up 38 last night, which I think boosted his confidence. Also, maybe it was because James Harden didn't play because James Harden is their leading scorer on the year.
Now that Jeremy's shot seems to be back, he and James Harden should balance their shots more evenly. James Harden is taking 17.2 shots per game and Jeremy is taking 10.5 so they should balance it more evenly.  I hope that Jeremy Lin will shoot like that every game, and the Rockets will play like a team.
                                                LINSANITY IS BACK!!!!!

If I were James Harden against the Thunder

Last game, the Rockets got destroyed by the Thunder 120-98. If I were James Harden before and after the game, this is how I would feel.
Before the game, I would feel nervous because all of the pressure on me to do awesome. I would also feel excited to play against, and see my old teammates. I would also feel like I had to take over the game and score all of the points, so I could show my old coach that he should regret trading me.
During the game, Harden couldn't get any shots to go in, so he finished 3 for 18 shooting for 17 points. After the game I would have felt very frustrated that I could not get a shot to go in.  I would also have felt relieved that the game was over because of all of the pressure that was on me.
The Rockets had a full day that day. They had a game the night before, and they also had to go to Minnesota for Sasha McHale's funeral before the game, so they probably didn't get much time to prepare for the game, or much sleep. Also they had to travel and play on the same day which I think threw them off a little bit.
Tonight they play against the Jazz, and hopefully James Harden can get plenty shots in to help the Rockets win!!!

Rockets Thanksgiving Updates

Happy Thanksgiving! My family did not travel anywhere during Thanksgiving Break. Instead, we had dinner with family, and my Dad's cousins came to visit from Cleveland.
I could not write on my blog lately, because I had basketball practices and a tournament this weekend. I have been busy lately.
If I were Jeremy Lin before the game against the Knicks, I would feel very nervous to play against my old teamates. I would also feel like there is lots of pressure on me to play my best. During the game, I heard that he chipped a tooth. I hope he feels better verry quickly.
I also heard today that Kevin McHale's daughter died at the age of 23, by the disease called lupos. I feel sorry for him that his daughter died so young, but I hope he comes back to coach soon.  Hopefully the Rockets can start winning like they did against the Knicks.

Rockets vs. Lakers

Last game the Rockets lost to the Blazers in OT 117- 119. Now it is twice that they lost to the Blazers in overtime, so now they need to beat them. James Harden had 29 points, but he couldn't score 30. If he scored one more basket, that is not a free throw, then the Rockets would have tied it. Mike D'Antoni will be coaching his first game for the Lakers tonight. Hopefully the Rockets can spoil it and win the game. In order to win the game, they will need to follow these keys.

  • Get James Harden to move the ball around more, and to take the high percentage shots
  • Stop their big three, Dwight Howard, Steve Nash, and Kobe Bryant
  • Get lots of fastbreak opportunities off of turnovers
  • Run lots of backdoor plays, when Jeremy Lin is in at point guard

That is how the Rockets will win the game tonight, hopefully they do win, and hopefully they follow my keys! If they win, their record will be 5-5.

NBA All-Star Voting Ballots

Today I will be talking about the new all star ballots, and what my opinion is about it. This year on the ballot, there will be 3 forwards/center instead of 2 forwards and 1 center. I like it because it is not as specific as the old ones. Also, sometimes you can't decide between 3 forwards to vote for, and this year you can vote for all of them!

I also think it is WAY to early in the season to start the all star voting, because it is only two weeks into the season. I am excited that 4 Rockets players are on the ballot. They are, Jeremy Lin, James Harden, Chandler Parsons, and Omer Asik. I will definitely vote for all of them. I hope all of them make it to the all star game, and some even make it to the Skills Competition, the 3 Point Shootout, or the Slam Dunk Contest.

This year's all star game is in Houston. It is right near my birthday, so I am hoping that I could go and watch it!

Rockets vs. Heat

Last game, the Rockets beat the Pistons 96-82. They followed all of my keys, but one and that one was to get James Harden to score 30 or more points, because every game he did, the Rockets won. They still ended up beating the Pistons, and James Harden had 20 points. My other keys were to stop them from shooting 3's and to get lots of fastbreak opportunities, and they followed both of them. This is a tough game against the Heat, and hopefully they will follow my keys, and win. Here are my keys.

  •  Stop the big 3
  • Get lots of offensive rebounds
  • Get lots of fastbreak opportunities
That is what my keys are to this game, and hopefully they win!

Rockets vs. Pistons

Last game the Rockets lost to the Grizzlies 93-85. Honestly, I think they could have beaten them. They followed all of my keys, but one, which was to get James Harden scoring. He only had 18 points on 4 of 18 shots made. Every game he has scored 30 points or more, the Rockets have won. One of my keys, were to get second chance rebounds, which they did. My other key was to stop Zach Randolph from posting up, which they did. Here are my keys for tonight's game.
  • Get lots of fast break opportunities
  • Get James Harden to score 30 points or more
  • Stop the Pistons from shooting 3's
Hopefully, they win and follow my keys! If they win, their record will be 3-3.

Rockets vs. Grizzlies

Last game the Rockets lost the game, 93-87. They didn't follow my keys. One of the keys was to get James Harden scoring, but he only had 15 points. My other key was for them to push the ball. They did push the ball, and they did get lots of steals for fastbreaks. Jeremy Lin had 6 steals, and James Harden had 5. My last key was to stop Ty Lawson, but they didn't stop him. He had 27 points.

The Rockets did not follow my keys last game, and I think they would have won if they did. Hopefully they will follow my keys this game, and hopefully they will win! Here are my keys,

  • Get James Harden making jump shots
  • Get lots of second chance opportunity rebounds
  • Stop Zach Randolph from posting up

Hopefully they can beat the Grizzlies and follow my keys! If they win, their record will be 3-2.
